Visual Positioning System (VPS)
A Visual Positioning System (VPS) is a Spatial localization technique that uses computer vision instead of, or in addition to, GNSS signals. By comparing live camera frames to a database of geo-anchored images and 3D features, a VPS can estimate pose with far higher accuracy than raw GPS, even indoors or in “urban canyons.” VPS is a backbone technology for AR Spatials navigation, Spatial GPS, and location-based games built on Spatial AI. When apps integrate a VPS through platforms like Spatials.aiTM, they can drop pins, overlays, and VR Spatials portals into the world with confidence that everyone will see them in the same place, across devices and sessions.
